10 Hidden Features and Tricks in Windows 11:
Let us explore the hidden features and tricks in the latest version of Windows, Windows 11. I’m excited to show you some features that have been around for a while but aren’t well known, as well as some new features that have just been introduced in Windows 11.
Let’s begin with the new shortcut keys. Windows 11 has some new shortcut keys that will make your life easier. For example, pressing the Windows logo key and the W key opens up the new widgets pane on the left-hand side of your screen.
Similarly, pressing the Windows logo key and the A key opens up quick settings, where you can adjust your monitor brightness and volume levels.
The Windows logo key and the N key opens up the notification pane and your calendar, while the Windows logo key and the Z key opens up Snap layouts, which allows you to easily position your windows around your screen.
Next up, we have a way to add more themes to your Windows 11 experience. Although Windows 11 comes with some beautiful themes out of the box, you can personalize your experience even further by browsing hundreds of different themes that you can install. Simply open up Settings, then click on Personalization, then select Themes and browse to choose the one that suits your taste.
The task manager is a place we all go to close apps that are uncooperative. To launch it, simply press the Control, Shift, and Escape keys together, and there you go – the task manager is right in front of you.
Another feature in Windows 11 is the night light, which allows you to turn on warmer colors as it gets later at night. This makes it easier to fall asleep. To turn it on, simply right-click on your desktop and select Display Settings. Within display settings, you can turn the night light on or off, and you can even set up a schedule for when it starts and when it turns off again.
10 Hidden Features and Tricks in Windows 11:
Making your mouse cursor more visible is another feature that you can customize in Windows 11. By clicking on Accessibility in Settings, you can then navigate to Mouse Pointer options and change the size of your mouse pointer and adjust its color. These changes will be visible if you use Microsoft Teams or Zoom or if you’re recording your screen using OBS.
In Windows 11, you can hide all of your desktop icons if you want a clean look. To do this, right-click on your desktop, go to View, and toggle off “Show Desktop Icons.” This will hide all the icons from your desktop.
Another cool feature in Windows 11 is the redesigned emoji picker. You can press the Windows logo key and the semicolon key together to launch the emoji picker. Not only can you choose emojis, but you can also pick from GIFs, kaomojis, and even symbols.
Did you know that you can copy and paste multiple items in Windows 11? Simply copy an item like you normally would by pressing “Ctrl C,” but instead of pressing “Ctrl V” to paste, press the Windows logo key and the V key to see all the different items that you’ve copied onto your clipboard. You can then choose which item you want to paste.
Finally, navigating through the start menu can be a bit cumbersome when you have a lot of apps installed on your computer. But in Windows 11, you can click on the different headers in the all apps section to quickly navigate to a letter of the alphabet. For example, if you’re looking for the Snip and Sketch tool, you can simply click on the letter S, and all the apps starting with S will appear.
And that’s it for today. I hope you found these tips and tricks useful. If you have any other hidden features or tricks that you’d like, please comment.
